Our story and how we ended up living in Northern Lapland

We are Asle and Erik, a finnish couple originally from Southern Finland. We fell in love with Lapland in 2020 while on vacation in the wilderness area of Hammastunturi. The cottage was in the middle of the wilderness, an hour and a half by snowmobile from the nearest road, and it was very authentic, without running water or electricity. We loved every second of that week we spent in the wilderness! After the trip, our hearts had stayed in Northern Lapland and we started planning a permanent move to the other end of Finland, far from our family and friends. We moved in 2023 to the municipality of Inari, which is a neighboring municipality of Utsjoki, and now in October 2025 we ended up in the village of Karigasniemi as entrepreneurs of Napakettu Holiday Village.

Asle has experience in the food and restaurant industry, the hotel industry and other customer service positions in different industries.
Erik has experience in event and fair production, as well as in the forestry industry. Today, Erik is a local logging entrepreneur. We have both been entrepreneurs for over 15 years.

For us, the most important value in our holiday village is nature and its respect, as well as the comfort of our customers. We live here in the middle of Lapland's nature, where there is the cleanest air in the world, the clearest waters and untouched nature. We want to preserve this land as it has always been, in harmony with human and nature. Customer satisfaction and creating an atmosphere where you can feel the magic of Lapland are important to us because we want you to relax on your holiday and have the same feel of magic we felt.

So starting December 1st 2025 we warmly welcome you and your family to our small holiday village Napakettu to experience the holiday of your dreams!
